The PIXMA ip2000 from Canon is a photo printer that allows you to create high-quality prints from the comfort of your own home, while carrying a very reasonable price tag. Convenient and easy-to-use, the ip2000 utilizes Canon’s Full-Photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) technology and a 1,088-nozzle print head to produce fine, 2-picoliter ink droplets, resulting in photos with rich detail and subtle shading. Canon’s color and pigment-based black inks produce rich, colorful prints, while borderless printing lets you create photos with a professional look and feel.
Color resolution is as high as 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, with black-and-white resolution up to 600 x 600 dpi. Print speeds are as high as 20 ppm in black, 14 ppm in color, while a borderless 4-by-6-inch photo takes about 50 seconds. Additionally, the same drive system responsible for the ip2000’s improved print speed also results in a low 43 dB(A) noise level. Easy-PhotoPrint v3.0
While most photo-editing software applications will brighten the entire image, Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 accurately detects the subject’s face and adjusts the skin to the optimum tone. Brighten dark faces caused by bright backgrounds. Choose from one-click automatic to correct the entire image all at once, or manual to correct just a selected area.

Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0 also lets you select and print any image on your PC, perfectly trim images, correct images using lab-quality retouching features, correct red-eye, smooth facial lines and skin tone, sharpen faces, remove blemishes, and print in a variety of sizes and layouts.
Exif Print Technology
Exif 2.2 is the worldwide printer independent standard for digital image processing. Under Exif 2.2, the digital still camera can record data tags for specific camera settings and functions such as whether the flash was on or off, if the camera was in landscape, portrait or night scene mode, etc. Referencing some or all of this information, an Exif Print compatible application can process digital camera images intelligently based on specific camera settings and the shooting environment.

Not as great as they say, but still very good
I will start by saying I buy cheap ink for my printer. And I will follow that by saying HOLY COW can you get some SUPER CHEAP INK for this printer!!! (generic, of course). The photos that print look good and I don’t mind the quality, but they certainly aren’t comparable to real photos from a lab. But it works for what I need it to, it prints normal text really quick, and I couldn’t be happier (mostly b/c the ink is soooooo cheap!)
stay away
This printer stinks - at least the one that I received.
Not a single picture comes out looking like it does on my camera OR computer screen. What happens to faces is undescribeable. Any detail areas are completely a mess.
I have wasted a lot of money on new ink and special printing paper. What a waste of money. And now I have to buy another printer again.
Seriously, this thing prints out terrible pictures. Some of them look ok from a distance (and that is only some of them!), but look somewhat closely at the picture and you won’t believe the number of problems with detailed areas. This thing isn’t printing out what is there, its printing out some semblence of what it thinks is there. Stay away.
useless
My version of this printer was pretty much useless because everytime I went to print, the paper would get jammed. This happened over and over and over and over and over again. I was not doing anything fancy, simply printing black/white documents. This is why I rank this product as utterly useless. Canon should devote some serious attention to their paper feeding system on this printer.

I got this printer on clearance… Even at full price its about a thrid of my first one! Great borderless full size 9×11″ color prints in about one minute! YIKES thats FAST! Its really quiet too! I just love this thing! Get one now!
Great for occasional printing needs
The iP2000 from Canon is a capable photo printer for occasional use. It boasts high speed and excellent photo quality. In the end I paid $20 more and got the iP3000 instead because (according to my Staples sales guy) the iP3000 allows individual color tanks, so when you run out of one ink you don’t need to replace all the colors.
Of course, in reality the colors tend to run out more or less at the same time.
